Does the term “nut cream” make you giggle? Well, it’s actually a real thing. One of the most popular types of cream or milk made from nuts is cashew cream, and it's very easy to make (In a pinch, you can use almonds or other nuts instead of cashews).

How to Make Cashew Cream & Milk

Super-Thick Cream Thick Cream Milky-Thickness
1 cup (135 g) cashews
1/4 cup (60 mL) liquid
1 cup  (135 g) cashews
1/2 cup (120 mL) liquid
1 cup (135 g) cashews
3/4 cup (180 mL) liquid
Use for:
Frosting for cakes/cupcakes/desserts (I recommend using plant milk as the liquid)
Use for:
A dip; spoon over savory food; stir into soups, curries and pasta sauces
Use for:
A sauce or drizzle onto savory food; stir into soups, curries and pasta sauces

Cashew milk and cream is an amazing dairy-free all-purpose cream sauce. Many people will use it in place of heavy cream, half-and-half, and other high fat options like coconut cream or milk. It's perfect for adding to grain bowls and salads, used as Alfredo pasta sauce or a sandwich spread, or stirred into soups, curries, or dips. Plus, you can easily flavor it to suit both sweet and savory dishes.
