I have high blood cholesterol, can I eat eggs? The simple answer is Yes - as long it is part of a healthy diet! So watch the video, or keep reading!

Back in the days, eggs were blamed for raising blood cholesterol since they are high in dietary cholesterol! Simple equation, right? We eat cholesterol, we raise cholesterol - not totally true!

What Raises My Blood Cholesterol?

Research shows saturated fat raises cholesterol twice as much as dietary cholesterol. Go ahead and enjoy eggs if you're a fan!

Eggs are rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They also support heart health!

Takeaways

Instead of saying no to eggs, watch out for saturated fats instead. Stay away from processed foods such as: ice-cream, butter, bacon…and the list goes on! Ask your dietitian to identify what foods in your diet might be high in saturated fat.

It is also important that you consider other factors that may contribute to high cholesterol, including diet, exercise, and your body weight. Follow the DASH diet, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy weight for a better cholesterol level.
